ACPS LONGTIMERS NEED FUREVER HOMES

Ready to foster or adopt? How about a little bit older dog who has been waiting at the shelter over a year. These four sweet babes have “Black Dog Syndrome,” which makes it very difficult to be adopted just because of their color. Meet Starburst, Hunt, Addy, and Hambone, ages 2-4. Three of the four dogs are in amazing foster homes. They all need homes and are adoptable through ACPS in Jacksonville FL. Email for info: Jaxpets@COJ.net

Dogs Treated for Heartworm
with help from donors like you

REMEMBERING WARRIOR DOG SLIDER

This month we honor a very special FOJA dog "Slider." This amazing dog was FOJA's first K9 for Warriors placement. On August 4th of this year, at the age of 15, Slider succumbed to the debilitating effects of Canine Cognitive Dysfunction.  He passed away peacefully in his daddy Charlie's loving arms in his forever home. Charlie says that Slider literally saved his life, just as Charlie had literally saved Slider’s life.

JAX BEACH ANIMAL CONTROL GETS NEW CAT KENNELS

The kitty cats at Jacksonville Beach Animal Control are so happy to get new kennels! FOJA is grateful to donors like you who make purchases like these possible. THANK YOU!

FOJA HEART DOG:
MELLOW MELVIN

Melvin came to ACPS back in May as a stray and was tested heartworm positive. The staff and shelter volunteers immediately fell in love with this sweet gentle boy who became known as Mellow Melvin. Melvin was successfully treated for heartworms in June while still waiting for his forever home. Melvin’s dream came true in early August. He is now enjoying a great life with his loving Fur-Mom and Fur-Dad along with his Fur-Sister Darlene. Melvin was even thrown a first birthday party because his adopters knew he probably never had a party in his honor!

Because of your donations to FOJA, shelter dogs like Melvin can move on their forever homes and the adopters have one less thing to worry about knowing dogs like Melvin are successfully treated for heartworms.

Thank you, Team FOJA!
